The Air Experience flight (also known as a trial flight) is so much more than a jolly and it is intended to provide the recipient with a real experience of being in control of an aeroplane whilst under the supervision of a professionally qualified flying instructor. Even if you have flown in an airliner, this experience is far more enjoyable.

We always provide a full pre-flight briefing so that the ‘student pilot’ and any family or friends who are interested can learn some of the fundamentals.
There is an opportunity to take photographs and absorb some of the atmosphere here at Border Air Training and everyone is welcome. We have two seat aeroplanes, for the instructor and one person, and a 4 seat aeroplane which allows up to an extra two passengers with an interest in the lesson to observe from the rear seats.
Our normal training area covers the Lake District, The Solway Firth and the Scottish Borders, so there is a lot to see during the flight. Subject to weather conditions we can pretty much fly in any direction we choose without the delays of flying from larger airports.
